My Transformation Story

Like many women, managing my weight has been a challenge my entire life. I've been a chubby kid, a skinny young adult, and over time, I've watched my weight yo-yo up and down throughout the different phases of my life. And even though I was athletic growing up and into adulthood, my discipline to workout wavered, just like my weight.
I finally reached a turning point about ten years ago. A friend posted a photo of me on social media and I was appalled at what I saw. Who was this overweight woman looking back at me? And where did that slim me go? I knew she was under there somewhere. That was when I decided to change my eating habits and find a well-rounded fitness program that has led me to a weight and body self-image I'm happy with today.
Here's what I learned:

-
A balanced diet based mainly on real, whole foods, not processed, feeds the body and leaves you energized.
-
A strong, fit, and healthy body is built by doing different types of exercise, not just one. This means a program that includes a combination of weight training, cardio/aerobic, and mobility/flexibility work.
-
Mindset is key. Envision the body (and life) you want and remember why that is important to you. What is your driving force? And be forgiving of yourself when you "fall off the wagon". Just get back up, dust yourself off, remind yourself of your why and pick up where you left off.

Ten years later, here I am. After pursuing fitness and nutrition certifications and listening to women's challenges first-hand as a coach, my passion has become helping other women succeed in their own fitness and health journeys.
